Changes at Rogers and CBC will hurt Canadians.

The Canadian Association of Journalists expresses its deep concern over two series of cuts announced Thursday impacting both Rogers Communications Ltd. and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.
On March 29, Rogers announced it would be eliminating 300 positions across its entire corporate holdings, which includes Rogers Media. This may include positions in Rogers' publication division as well as its television stations and specialty channels.
Later the same day — as part of the federal budget — the Department of Canadian Heritage confirmed the CBC would face a 10 percent funding cut over the next three years as part of cutbacks within that ministry.
